Adam Zhang
Adam is a freshman at St. Mark’s School of Texas in Dallas. He has played piano for ten years and also plays the church organ at his school’s chapel. Adam also frequently performs duets and piano trios with his friends. Adam has won three international piano competition awards and many more state and regional level honors. He is currently writing a musicology paper with professors at a private university.
Adam also uses his trusty camera to take photos and create short films to express his creative ideas. He records highlights and clips for his class’s student council and has filmed in Hollywood and Florence for the New York Film Academy. Also bolstered by his six years of choral experience, Adam has entered many classical Latin conventions and studied the works of authors such as Virgil, Caesar, Tacitus, and Martial.
Adam was honored with the Presidential Volunteer Service Gold Award for dedicating 300 hours to social impact and community service. Adam is also one of 0.2% of artists nationally to win a gold medal at the national Scholastic Art and Writing Awards for outstanding expressive prowess, which comes with a visit to Carnegie Hall. Additionally, he has pursued other academic endeavors, including attending competitions such as MathCounts and qualifying for the AIME.

Music is a huge part of Adam’s life. Adam has played the cello for a brief period of four years in middle school, but decided to focus on his main instrument, the piano.
